Last Friday, a window of a few hours allowed a small tour at the Quinta do Lago/Ludo area. More than 60 species were spotted in about 3h. At this time of the year, many ducks are present and we saw several hundreds of Wigeons among Shovelers,Gadwalls, Pintails and Teals. Few Flamingos were present but we had the chance of seeing a Great White Egret and read colour-rings on an old Spoonbill (the bird was ringed in 1997!). Despite the cloudy weather, we saw 2 different Ospreys. As the tide was low, many waders were feeding on the mudflats. We looked for the Red-knobbed Coot but did not find it. However, the Brent Goose found in December was still present. On the golf course, many Serins were feeding with Meadow Pipits, White Wagtail and Mistle Thrush.

A nice morning out in good company!

Have a look at our tours to enjoy great birding!
