A trip at Lagoa dos Salgados early March with 3 enthusiastic birders produces almost 60 species in an afternoon. The water level allowed many wader to be present (12 species spotted) but also ducks (7 species). On the same spot, we saw a Bluethroat and a Yellow Wagtails a few seconds apart, wintering and spring birds present at the same time. The 1st winter Ring-billed Gull was still there, with 5 other species of gulls (including about 30 Audouin’s Gulls).
