We have already written about Abicada but this place is truly amazing! Near Alvor, it offers a good diversity of habitats and birds. A short walk there yesterday allowed seeing almost 50 species of birds! Teals, Flamingo (more than 100) and Shovelers (more than 100 too) were swimming together. A Great White Egret has been present for a few weeks and Bluethroats are regular. Many Crag Martins were feeding above the lagoon, some of them passing quite close. Spoonbills, Caspian Tern, Marsh Harrier and Water Rail were some of the other species recorded there.
